This beautiful woman is expecting her first child. Linh and I know each other from primary school - we became friends in Year 2 and were very close until Year 9, when Linh went to another school. 20 years have passed (!!!) and now we've reconnected on the eve of Linh becoming a mummy. To say I feel honoured to capture this time in her life is an understatement.
This is Stacey and her beautiful baby-belly. Stacey joined me in my home studio a few weeks ago to celebrate this incredible time in her life. We wanted to create timeless, feminine images in the lead-up to meeting her baby (a beautiful boy! Welcome to the world, Parker!).
Inspired by the stunning maternity images of New Zealand photographer, Sue Bryce, I wrapped Stacey in pieces of the softest tulle to create a custom pregnancy piece to photograph her in. We also created a custom lace gown out of soft cream lace. These custom pieces can be created for any body type, are flattering and feminine, and come in a range of soft, beautiful colours.
Pregnancy is such a magical time in a woman’s life. If you’d like very own custom maternity session, let’s start talking here.
THIS. This family!
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, four lovely people welcomed me into their home to document their family's story in images. There is much love here, much laughter, with some trampoline-jumping, piano-playing and neighbourhood-scootering thrown in for good measure.
I first met this beautiful family almost 2 years ago, when their eldest was just a baby. Now, that lovely baby is a big sister to a new baby.
Toohey Forest is a huge expanse of native forest on the south side of Brisbane, and a place I had never photographed a family before. This lovely family spend a lot of time walking the trails of Toohey Forest, so beyond being a great setting for family photos, it also holds special meaning for them.
Here's their afternoon session, set amongst the eucalypts and grass trees.

I love photographing Mamas and Daughters. It's such a special bond.
A couple of months ago, I had an awesome afternoon with this beautiful mama and her little girl. Here's the story of this family in images.
It's one of my great joys to capture mothers' groups - that special group of women you meet when you have your first baby and grow into motherhood with.
One very hot Saturday morning, 8 families converged for a catch-up, for play, and to capture some beautiful photo-memories.
Thank you to all the families present on the day, it was lots of fun! And a big thank you to the wonderful woman who organised the event but was unable to attend. My deepest appreciation.
Documentary photography aims to tell a story, capture real people having real moments and real relationships, in a beautiful, authentic way. Photographing this family, and aiming to tell their unique story through images, was such a fun experience. They were savvy about what they wanted to get out of their images, they planned lots of different activities to do while I was there, allowing them to be relaxed and ‘in the moment’ and on top of all of that, they have BIG LOVE.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy this family’s story.
Spring Mini Sessions have been filling up my weekends with sunshine this past month. It’s been so, so, so fun. This lovely family met me at Rocks Riverside Park one Saturday afternoon for 30 minutes of hangin’ out and having beautiful moments captured.
I love photographing families. I love being silly with kids - twins this time! - and having a fun time in the park. And I love getting to hand over beautiful images at the end of it all.

Mondays with Noah has begun.
Each Monday, we're going to do something fun together. Something oriented around Noah and where he's at. I've become really mindful lately of how quickly time passes, how each day my kids are different and older. So this is my pledge to Noah to make Monday mornings Noah-time.
Sometimes I'll post videos of what we get up to. Sometimes a photo. And sometimes, I'll just savour our little hang-out all to myself!
And not to leave my biggest munchkin out, we've got our own weekly 'date' set too.
I'm hoping, as time goes on, that my filming skills will get better (hello, Shaky Camera Hands!). It's a wonderful project for me to feel creative, learn some new skills, while also documenting Precious Childhood Memories.
The clouds were looming last Friday afternoon, hinting at rain, denying us that sweet, sweet sunshine.
But it didn't matter.
Sure, the little slivers of sunshine we got were sublime. But even after the clouds rolled in again, we got down to the Business of Being on Little People Time.
Slower. Playing. Singing nursery rhymes. At times laughing, and at other times, soulfully serious, considering the mysterious things that Little People think about.
It was fun, it always is, meeting new families and being on Little People Time.
